My lovely daughter sent us running to the bath yesterday after a lovely poopy backside. She saved it just for us! Her sitter sent her home just in time. She also rolled over, twice, all by herself yesterday without help!!! It was a total accident, but she did it! The first time she was very happy and smiled a big grin at her mommy... the second time she started as if she were scared to death... :-)
Today the parents as teachers gal came by for our 2nd visit. Laynee's doing everything she's supposed to be! Holding her head up and looking around is her favorite thing to do. Below, I've posted a pic of her bringing her giraffe to her mouth. I should have videoed it, but didn't think of it until just now. It's incredibly cute watching her move her hands so very slowly toward whatever object you hold in front of her. . . then, ever so slowly she brings it to her mouth for a little taste... I think this giraffe tasted pretty good to her... It sings too! Thanks for the giraffe Meme!
Now a little about Jake, our first baby. Jake has had a bed all to himself since before Jace and I met. His bed is located in the front doorway of the living room.
Last year, Jake's cousin Simba came to stay with us for a week. We borrowed Meme and Papa's dog crate for Simba to stay in. The crate is so large, we needed to use Jake's nook so it didn't take up all the living room floor. Jake was ousted to the living room, bed-less. Finally, after a week or so, Simba went home. Yeaaa for Jake!
For a while, Jake would sleep in the crate also... but then Baby Laynee's stuff started to accumulate in the living room, so we took the crate apart and used the little nook for some basic storage. Jake, again was bed-less. Eventually, Meme and Papa needed the crate back, so it went bye-bye also. Then Baby Laynee actually arrived... bringing even more stuff with her: swing, pack-n-play, etc. and most of it was kept in the nook... Jake remained bed-less and roamed the house, creeping in and out of the sofa and recliner at night, hoping we don't wake up to catch him.
So, after many months of Jake-fur accumulating on (then being vacuumed off) the furniture, Jake's daddy decided to give Jake his original place to sleep... bed and all. Mommy and Daddy re-stuffed his newly cleaned bed and before Dad could even get the bed in place in Jake's nook, guess who was waiting to lay down.... Jake.
Jake didn't even let Jason get it all in place before he started to make it his own again. We both felt a great deal of relief that he finally has his own room again.
Good boy Jake.... And here he continues to remain from the moment it put down, except for the occasional treat hunt, until now... 10pm.
Good night!
